Pets age faster than humans, and our companion animals are considered seniors at 7-9 years old. It is our recommendation that senior pets have a physical examination twice a year. Early symptoms are often subtle and easy to miss. In conjuction with a physical exam, laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging can disclose illnesses before they progress. Early detection is key to adding valuable, happy years to your pet's life.
A comprehensive Wellness Profile includes the following:
- Blood Chemistry Analysis - 27 biochemical tests which include kidney, liver and pancreatic function

- Complete Blood Count (CBC)
- Electrolyte Analysis
- Thyroid Function Test
- Urinalysis
The results of these tests are often available the following day, and will be interpreted by our doctors. We will then discuss the results with you in detail and make recommendations for treatment of any conditions we may discover. We may also make specific nutritional recommendations for your senior pet after our evaluation is complete. In some cases, additional bloodwork or follow-up tests may be necessary based on our physical examination findings and laboratory results. These tests may include, but are not limited to:
- Additional Blood Tests
- Blood Pressure Evaluation
- Cardiac and/or Abdominal Ultrasound
- Chest and/or Abdominal Radiographs
- Urine Culture
